just brolught this classic no brainer and was surprised to see criterion collection on side as had not been advertised as such i cant see any difference in features between r1 or r2 except r2 is a anamorphic picture.
does anybody know if their will be more criterion edition released as r2?

The R2 version was released with a Criterion label on it due to the licensing agreement between Criterion and BV for Armageddon. This agreement allowed Criterion to have an exclusive R1 release on the condition that BV could have wouldwide (excluding. US) rights to the Criterion extras and master.


The relationship between Criterion and BV is now believed to have been terminated.
