Organising your DVD/Games collection.
Does anyone use any software/website to organise their DVD collection and if so can it also do games. I have been thinking about getting something for a while.
What do you recommend? I have been looking at Mediaman and Collectorz but both have a price tag. Any free ones out there?
Cheers

RE: Organising your DVD/Games collection.
I have a program on Linux called GCStar, which can log almost any type of collection, but if you`re a Windows user I couldn`t be sure, sorry. If you`re a Linux user then GCStar is probably available in your repository.

Ooh hang on, it`s available for Windows too. Here. Just scroll down the page a bit for the Windows download. Aren`t you lucky we Linux users are so benevolent? :D Hope it`s what you were looking for anyway.

This does not seem to work. :(
Windows cannot find wperl.exe
edit: With alot of playing around I have got it working. Some things still need to be corrected but its taken me ages so need a rest. ;)
It looks quite nice and is real easy to use. Shame it gets the film info from US sites and does not have the choice to use UK sites.
First impressions are good. Now i need to work out how to use themes in windows.

RE: Organising your DVD/Games collection.
Sorry you had trouble with it dude. I don`t have Windows any more so it`s difficult to offer my own experiences I`m afraid. GCStar is in the Ubuntu software repository, so all I do to install it is click a button and wait. What`s your experience with it thus far? Did you manage to get it to do what you want? I was going to give it a go myself, but is it not a bit laborious putting all your collection into a program? I suppose I should give it a shot myself....

RE: Organising your DVD/Games collection.
I use:
for dvd`s
DVD Profiler
still offers a free version with some limitations.. (I paid fer mine)
for cd`s and games:
mediaman
actually, media man I haven`t used for a while, it seems to be new and improved.
It scuppers the older free version I have, so I can look at all my old stuff, but can`t add any new... I think...

RE: Organising your DVD/Games collection.
Ok. I opted for DVD profiler and its very nice. Most of my collection is in. Anyone got any tips / tweaks that I may like to try?
I paid for the full version so would like to get the most out of it. I love how you can add the pics of cast and crew. Its so simple. Just double click the empty picture box and it searches google for a picture. Then just drag that picture (in full size view) down to DVDProfiler and then into the box and hey presto its done.
Sure there is lots more to use. I also like the "Lent out" section. I am always forgetting who I lend my DVD`s out to.
