WALL-E - Perfection

Pixar`s done it again. My first Pixar Blu-ray and I`m knocked out by it. Hilarious, touching (without being overly sentimental or mawkish). I was expecting something quite saccharine given the talk over at the AICN about sneak previews they`d seen, but as usual they were fixating on some small detail rather than the big picture.

As good as the main picture are the two wonderful supporting shorts - Presto, which is as good as classic Looney Tunes; and Burn-E, which does the same simultaneous action gag for WALL-E as Bruce & Lloyd Out Of Control did for Get Smart. Brilliant.

Have yet to start on the extras on disc 2... :D

The film is already one of my favourites.
I watched it with my nephew at the weekend (he`s just under 3 years old) and he was entranced by it.

The Blu-Ray is on my Amazon wish list - so it will be bought eventually!

Yes, an absolute classic. Incredible expressions on the two leads.

BD not BR. Sorry, but I feel the need to educate people every time I see written incorrectly ;)

The Pixar Story doc on the second disc is excellent. I`m still waiting on my BD copy from Disney, but they sent it today so should have it soon. I`ve had to make do with the bonus disc so far.

Chris - you just know no-one`s going to listen.
But its a valiant effort :D

Well I might now call it Blu Ray or BR just to annoy you. :p

Personally I calls `em Blus for short.

Wouldn`t BR disc be the more correct identification - BD disc would be redudant - Bluray Disc Disc.

At least with BD the meaning`s established, not cocked up like DVD when it switched mid-way from Digital Video Disc (which is what it says on the can) to Digital Versatile Disc (FFS!)

BD is the official nomenclature, because it`s Blu-ray Disc, not Blu Ray Disc. The Blu and ray are considered part of the same word.

Technically DVD doesn`t officially stand for anything, video or versatile.
