Has anyone purchased Lagaan

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has purchased Lagaan yet and if the DVD is any good and worth parting with the cash?

This is one of my favourite films of all time. Destined to be a classic. The film itself is brilliant and virtually flawless. The sound is great, the transfer good but could be better but hey, you are looking at 3 hrs 40 mins plus deleted scenes crammed into one disc so its as good as you could expect. Theres nothing special about the menu, no animation, soundtrack or fancy graphics cos i think they were trying to save most of the space for the film itself. Its definetly worth buying

Yep got it from dvdimport, arrived a day before region 1 release date.

Very happy with the transfer although you only get DD 2.0.

Brilliant movie,

Deadly.

Thanks, I purchased the film and it is one of the best Indian films I have ever seen.

The film is excellent, but the DVD could have been better. Also, there is no menu option for playing songs.

check out www.indiaweekly.com of US for some of the best prices on Indian DVDs. works out much cheaper than buying in the UK if ordering 3 - 4 titles at a time !!

I have just noticed it has been nominated for an Oscar in the best international film category. Which will be won by Amelie no doubt!!!!

Just saw the deleted scenes and i must say they are excellent. This is a real fine example of how deleted scenes should be (PROPER actually deleted scenes not just scenes made especially for the dvd) They are very interesting and are of some importance to the storyline. At first when i saw the special features list for this dvd, i though damn they are giving us sh*t but after watching it, i am very satisfied
