Page 1 of Yet another Terminator release...?
DVDs & Films Forum
There`s been so many dvd versions and I`m pretty sure a BD release. But now I find that amazon have terminator on pre-sale now:

what I dont understand is whats going to be different compared to the versions already released on bluray? Hopefully the image quailty will actually look HD worthy this time round. Anyone got any info on this?
RE: Yet another Terminator release...?
It was announced ages ago and was supposed to be out last month. It was then delayed until later in the year, then brought forward to May, then delayed again. The current reasoning for this is that it`s the long-awaited Cameron-approved transfer of the film that Van Ling has been working on for a while. Apparently Cameron was too busty with Avatar and all that stuff to get around to approving it before, but now he has done so (and we`re also getting True Lies and The Abyss at some point this year).
There will actually be a limited Steelbook available from Play from September onwards. The rear of the SB mentions DTS-HD, so that`s a good indicator that it`s not the same as the current US disc:

This will actually be something I buy again on BD. I have the US disc, and while it`s visually better than the DVDs, it`s littered with print damage and taken from a very dated HD master. It`s also limited to the dreadful remix, with all the altered foley. Hopefully the original Mono will be on the new BD, even if it`s just in lossy. I also hope they redo the 5.1 mix to include the original effects, rather than the altered ones.
