The guy who initally designed Ecto-1 (and won the competition) also designed a to-scale Ghostbusters HQ, but apparently that was turned down. Partly because it would have been too complicated to print out the instructions, but also because it had more pieces than the Super Star Destroyer and the associated cost would have made it prohibitively expensive

I love Lego, as do the kids; but the only thing that makes Lego prohibitively expensive, is Lego themselves.  Some of the licensed stuff is very over-priced.
