Page 1 of VERSUS!....What a movie.

I have just watched this movie, i had been waiting ages for it, and must say....its one of the best action movies i have ever seen ....gunfights, swordsplay, martial arts and some Zombie action all flung in together to make one very exciting and interesting movie.

There is no digital effects in it, its all done with some amazing and skillfull camera work.

Its just a pity it s only available in Japan at the moment but if you like action films and dont mind paying the extra to import it, you would find one of the best action films to come out in a very long time.

I think if this film made it over here it would be cut up because of all the over the top blood and gore in it....but it is done in a funny and stylised kind of way and definetely worth a look.

Anyone else seen this movie?

I have used them 4 times recently and all my orders took only 3 and 4 days to arrive to me in Scotland.

I had to wait nearly a month before they posted Versus to me though, as it sold out immedietly and had to wait for the next print to come out, but i imagine the stocks will be up now.

As soon as they got more in they e-mailed me that it was posted out and i recieved the package delivered by Parcelforce 3 days later.

What spec` does the dvd have?

I have been interested in buying this movie for a long time but all I could find was a R0 bootleg.

got mine from cdjapan.co.jp its region 2 NTSC- very expensive-between £30-£40 delivered-site is a bit vague on extras

The DVD is Widescreen and Letterboxed according to the back of the case, my TV automatically switches to Widescreen when i start the movie.

The picture quality is very good but there is a bit of grain in it, (maybe not very noticable but i am always looking out for this).

The sound is only DD2.0 but is very crisp and clear and sounds a lot better than a lot of 5.1 tracks i have heard.

Other movies i have bought from Japan also have a superb DD2.0 soundtrack....My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki`s Delivery Service are two, and really show up the Movies out here with this sound, the first 3 Buffy seasons has this DD track and sounds very weak along with a few others i have heard.

There is not much Extras on the Disc but i never check out the extras anyway.

What you get is a very exciting movie with great actors and superb camera work along with some of the best action you will ever see, without any digital effects!

It is a bit expensive but worth buying as you are unlikely to see it out in the west for a while ...or at all,here is what the owner of Amotokyo had to say about the movie.......

A lot of british customers of us requested VERSUS to us. So, I watched this movie VERSUS.

This movie is GEKI YABA!! (Super Dangerous). This is the super high tension new age action movie. All kinds of entertainment action such as Karate action, Gun action, and sword action are in this movie. And each of those actions is great.
Especially, Sword action is really KAKKOIIi! (Cool). The sword action is partly traditional, but at the same time, it is really new and cool.

The new type of KATANA sword design is also super cool.

I have never seen such HIGH tension action. It is unbelievable that the Director Ryuhei Kitamura is new director. His sense on action scene is already out standing. I expect that Ryuhei Kitamura will be the giant action movie director.
As a matter of the fact, I heard that he goes to Hollywood movie. I believe that some of you may against that foreign good directors go to Hollywood. But I think that it is still great opportunity for young Japanese directors. Because they can get the chance to make big budget movie with great supporting staff. Why not! Everybody wants to make movie with enough budget.

Anyway, if you love action movie, you must
watch VERSUS. If you are Hong Kong Action Movie fans, or B class movie fans, you should watch.
But if you expect good story, or fine plot, you may not like this movie. I believe that the plot of this movie exists for shooting action scene. The story, things like that is not important for this movie VERSUS.
Also, if you do not like violent, bloody scene, you should skip this movie. This is the movie for cool Action
