Its a winner!
The NTSC Gfx are very nice, virtually no jaggies.
The actual game is superb, especially all the little paths you must use, the levels are very original and the Dinos are excellent.
Get it!
Yes ...this game is very good but the PS2 version is quite poor compared to the GC and XBox versions.
Get yourself an XBox Ironduke
Time to change :-).
RE: Turok Evolution on the PS2
err no its isnt the difference graphically is NOT worth upgrading and the reason for that is simple jerky boy, the game was designed to work on the PS2, the xbox and cube versions are just ports with tarted up gfx.
and it aint that tarted up palee.
time to change?
I dont think so the PS2`s future is far more certain then the other 2 besides when are you playing tombraider 6 and GTA4 on your xbox?
aswell as Pro Evo Soccer 2
when you silly little sod
Cant wait for the 2 towers on the PS2, playing Onimusha2 and Socom aswell this week...
what are you playin eye candy boy?
because apart from that the gameplay on the xbox and cube aint no better, and whats more you know it.
I would buy an xbox if I loved 3d shooters, apart from that it has nothing that is superior to the PS2 in gameplay, which is sad for such a powerful machine, especially when it isnt giving sony enough competition to try even harder.
hope that helps
Skirpy,
Could you just remind me when you`ll be playing Eternal Darkness, Star Fox adventures, Metroid Prime, RE(s) & Zelda?
Might be too kiddy for PS2 owners..
RE: Turok Evolution on the PS2
heeh hes being owned the silly sod:)
also skirp i bet you have not seen the difference between the versions.

RE: Turok Evolution on the PS2
Hi Ironduke
I`m playing Turok Evolution on my XBOX now and it looks pretty f***ing sweet to me, next up is GT2002, arn`t newsservers fecking wonderful!!
RE: Turok Evolution on the PS2
Its a shame the flying levels are s*"t.Why on earth have they put them in.It has wrecked the game.halo is still king im afraid.
i agree with previous comments regards to the ps2 thats why i have both.Best of both worlds.
Turok Evolution is shatter than the old N64 one
but SOCOM is fantastic, Kingdom Hearts US is like a next gen Secret of Mana and am waiting on Blade 2...Onimusha 2 is superb n all just watched my m8 play it all the time though.
Ps2 got some proper stuff on it at the moment after the summer lull
I have,nt seen the difference myself but i will cut and paste the end verdict that IGNinsider gave on the 3 reviews they done.....
PS2...
Presentation
Lots of work went into the CG and cutscenes. Generally, the presentation doesn`t falter. 8.5
Graphics
On the PS2, fade-in and load times annoy. On the flip side, the living worlds, moving bushes and trees, and animations are impressive. But not that impressive. 6.0
Sound
The music is better paced, offering a variety of fast and slow jungle beats to mix things up. The voice acting is wretched, while the death sounds are good for a laugh. 7.0
Gameplay
Tired game design, boring, often linear missions, and some erratic dumb-ass AI hurt this game big time. The flying additions are neither great not horrible, they`re just there. 5.5
Lasting Appeal
Turok is a big fat game, with enough single player levels to satisfy almost anybody. But the lack of a four-player deathmatch is weak. 6.5
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 6.3
Gamecube...
Presentation
Nostalgic Turok jungle themes mixed in with an advanced culture. Front-end and in-game load times are lengthy. 7.0
Graphics
Impressive lush environments, fluid animations, and fast framerate. Low-res textures and a lack of proper lighting make it look washed out, however. 7.0
Sound
Brilliant and varied in design, but compression takes its toll. Some balance issues are cause for muddiness. 8.0
Gameplay
A slightly above average FPS experience that can go haywire at times. Somewhat of a roller coaster ride of thrills and frustration. 7.0
Lasting Appeal
Lots of challenge here, 15 chapters, and lots of hours await. Few will want to play this twice. Unique multiplayer mode is a big plus. 7.0
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 6.9

Graphics
Great lighting and some nice textures and good animations. But sometimes everything looks better far away, and up close...yech. 8.0
Sound
Fantastic use of 5.1 sound with a solid score. Easily the best part of Turok. 9.0

Not much in it but the best out the bunch is XBox and scores high in sound.
You dont need to defend the PS2 Ironduke, i know it is still a good machine, i am playing US Onimusha 2 and Kingdom Hearts along with a few unfinished games on the GC and XBox....Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness and the new Monkeyball 2 along with Buffy....(great game) and Dead to Rights which is Superb and is coming to PS2 soon.....
But if i had to choose one machine i would pick the GC.....its got some great original games lined up and the graphics are much nicer than the PS2s which makes a difference to me......
If you dont get yourself a GC you are going to miss out on some of the best games that you will ever play.
RE: Turok Evolution on the PS2
Skirp I just thought I would tell you that the frame rate drops in The Thing xbox are aweful!
the PS2 doesnt suffer from this.
but hey you get extra lighting effects:P
hehe
