PS2 region X problem
got onto the region select screen but when pressing select the code entry screen does not come up? does any1 know how to solve this?
thanks
Put the disc in and let it load up, select the region you want (making sure you`ve got a memory card in) and press X. (not select) the tray should open automatically for the DVD.
There has been an advancement with the PS2`s program lately that stops the region X disc from working. This only relates to very recent versions.
RE: PS2 region X problem
thanks mate it works perfectly without me having to put the codes in. thanks for your help its much appreciated!
Can you tell me where I can get a region X disc for the ps2
Cheers
DD
Think I got mine from amazon. Try any shop that specialises in console games. Or buy straight from Datel here http://www.codejunkies.com/shop/
But like mentioned before, Sony got wise to the region X disc soon after it was released and adjusted their firmware against it. Whether or not Datel have updated their software to compensate, I don`t know.
just checked http://www.dvdregionx.com and yes, they have got around it. and codejunkies is selling the disc for a tenner now.
Brought a region x disc today, however when i switch to region 1 it still won`t play the dvd, can you help?
as long as you`re following the instructions to the letter, and you`re not getting a message that says "DVDREGIONX DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS VERSION OF DVD PLAYER" it sounds like you`ve got a faulty disc.
If you DO get this message, then go to the regionx link above, they`ve got a whole thing about it.
so I should just take the region x disc back and get a replacement?
Also when I used the scart lead that came with the disc the dvd`s played in green, any reason for this?
Whn I used my exsisting RGB lead it played in colour as it had done before!
Hmmm. the regionX disc should have stopped the green screen (Sony added this so that you couldn`t pirate DVD`s, it was their version of a macro-backup)
You need to go to the region X website as it looks like they`ve got a solution for that problem, plus they`ve got a troubleshooting guide.
