How will PS2`s broadband gaming service work?
Please excuse my ignorance.
I was wondering how Sony`s broadband service will work when they launch it on June 11th. Do you require an already active broadband service provider? Or does the disk bundled with the Sony package contain all you need to get up and running?
Someone please help - I was thinking of purchasing one but don`t know how much it`ll ultimately set me back.

I presume it works much the same as XBOX live, therefore you will need a broadband service provider already active. I don`t think there are any fees for ps2 online. I am not sure, but on some games you might be able to use regular dial up access.

Looks like you`ll need a playstation2 compatible router, such as the Voyager 200, plus the PS2 network adapter.

or check with your own broadband service

It`s odd that BT specifically refer to a `Playstation 2 Network Gaming compatible router`, whereas Sony themselves refer to just a `router`.
What would make a router *not* compatible?
I take it that with my existing router (AMX-64 from Dabs) and my current broadband connection (Zen ADSL) I`m all set up for online gaming with the PS2 network adapter when I get one?

sounds like it, but you still need the PS2 add-on
