My girlfreind has finally caved in so I`m in the market for a PS2. I have two questions which I was woondering if you folk can help answer

1. Where is the cheapest place to buy one from.

2. Can they be chipped or add ons be bought so that back up`s of PS" and PS1 games work

Looking forward to endless hours on the couch drooling over my videogame addiction

I was in the same situation. My wife got me one for my birthday on Sunday. We found it under the clearance shelves in Boots. I think they are probably not selling them anymore so it may be a chore to find one, but we got it for £127. they also had quite a few games at cheap prices. I would ask if you cant find any out on the shelves as they only have 1 or two in each store.

PS1 games will work without any mods.
Yes PS2 can be chipped,to play `back-ups`, but the choice of chips available is bewildering and I`m way too confused to even consider doing mine.
Some chips require some sort of boot disc to be inserted before your `back-ups` can be played, some don`t.
I get the impression one has to match the `back-ups` to the type of chip used,or vice-versa.
I can`t be bothered thanks...
`GAME` shops do trade-ins, so the financial `hit` of buying games isn`t what it used to be,unless you keep games once you`ve completed them that is.I`ve only actually paid full price for my first game, then kept trading in at costs varying from £3 to £18.
