Page 1 of Nintendo clamping down on imports.
Gaming and Consoles Forum
Theres a disclaimer on www.newageconsole.com saying they are no longer allowed to sell Nintendo games in the UK before the offical UK release date due to a legal dispute. This will upset a fair few folk I`d have thought. It probably means we wont be able to get games such as Animal Crossing that haven`t had a UK release either.
Looks like importing is going to get tougher if buying from UK sources. Not sure if and when this will affect foreign companies shipping to the UK like dvdboxoffice though.

I don`t see why it would.
This kind of `clamping down` has happened sporadically ever since the days of the Mega Drive and SNES; all it means is that foreign suppliers benefit at the expense of UK ones. It`s ridiculous, really - I don`t think Nintendo do themselves any favours by being so snotty about imports.

Nevermind not doing any favours, I think they lose themselves a lot of business and customers with some of their ridiculous policies and release schedules.

I got City Racer last week for GC us version (i dont think its ever coming out over here). And it is great....
This is the reason its so annoying. I can usually wait for UK releases (except I`ve just imported Advance Wars 2 :) ) but there are often games released we don`t see.
