Page 1 of XBOX - CAN THE XBOX BE CHIPPED FOR MULTI REGION?

Is there a way the xbox can be chipped for multi region dvds. i know it can be chipped for games but for dvds of other regions?

Apparently you can set it to R1 by purchasing a USA remote & receiving
unit (dongle?) BUT.. this only works if you haven`t already used it to play R2
disks i.e. virgin setup. Plus, I`m not sure if it can be switched back to R2 at
a later date. I read about this ages ago so things have probably changed since.

If you get it chipped it can easily be made multiregion buy using the DVDx disc, most of the places that chip the Xbox will install additional software for you, so you don`t need the disc.

ive got a modded xbox with dvdx installed on harddrive.plays all dvd`s from any region and you dont need the dongle or disc.
