Page 1 of Goldeneye 2

Whenever someone mentions Goldeneye 2 we all think the same thing, Rare have left Nintendo it can never happen. Well either I`ve found an early April Fools day joke or Goldeneye 2 is coming to the gamecube courtesy of EA. I haven`t played it yet but the general consensus is that everything or nothing was pretty damn good so this could well be good news. Just checked and it looks like it`s all format. I`m off to unpack my old N64.
Gamespot simply says
"In this follow-up to the classic Bond shooter, you play as a villainous agent fighting for control of the criminal underworld."
So there is life for Sean Bean after LOTR

Yes it is coming out..but it won`t be coded by Rare (unless EA buy the Timesplitters team) so therefore will not hold a candle to the original Goldeneye, no matter how slick and polished it is.

Don`t get me wrong - for the time Goldeneye was the best FPS around, with lots of innovative ideas and some of the the lushest graphics for the time but have you played it recently? The frame rate is appalling, and the vaseline effect of the N64`s anti-aliasing is laughable in places. As for the AI, it goes from great (bunker level) to atrocious (that bloody woman on the jungle level).
It was mostly the multi-player aspect of goldeneye that got everyone raving about it. Best fun you could have without vaseline, a goat and a big stick.
Rose inted glasses can be handy at remembering how good things were.

yes i know they can be, but it`s a testement to Goldeneye that people are still refering
to it today as one of the great console FPS. I suppose Halo will be looked upon in the
same manner in a few years time, but will they mention the negative aspects of that
game? i.e. repetative levels, atrocious frame rate (last level which borders on the
unplayable) then again, i suppose they will..........fickle lot!!
btw, the only section that i found to be frustrating due to framerate on Goldeneye was
the cradle level when you enter the control room with the dual machine guns....

yeah i was reading up on this, this you are a rogue 00 agent teaming up with the baddies like Goldfinger...you are going about your evil buisness all the time while James Bond is sneaking about messing things up for you and your nefarious cronies...
EA need to sort themselves out regarding Xbox live or this is going to be one of those only only on ps2...could be good though i think some of the old team is on board, something to do with the core Goldeneye developers who left during the development of Perfect Dark...i dont know who the team is i know Timesplitters 2 was Free Radical so maybe thats them

No it is not Free Radical making the game because they are busy with two projects at the moment. One game is a steath game which I have forgoten the title of and the other is Timesplitters 3 which is going to be published by EA.
As far as I know Goldeneye is being developed in house by EA and is planned for release at the end of the year. I am sure more details and screenshots of the game will be available in May.
