Page 1 of xbox 360 hmmmm

well, I purchase the official xbox 360 mag issue 2 yesterday.

It came with a dvd of trailers.

out of about 30 trails.. only 2 really excited me.

Alan Wake and Call Of Duty 2.

worrying...

Then I opened the magazine..

And all the promises that they made curmbled to dust.

The 360 cannot stream or store AVI or XVID, the 360 will not play MP3`s from a disc, the 360 requires a Windows media centre enabled PC to stream ANYTHING.

"microsoft does not want to support internet piracy" quotes the mag

so, it`s just an xbox with better graphics essentially.

man.. I knew it was too good to be true..

here`s hoping someone is working away somehwhere...

Alot of the retail Xbox 360`s sold in the U.S. yesterday seem to be crashing! >:(

In more ways than one!

I`ve just read your link DVD Dude. Holy crap, I`d heard there were some issues but it sounds pretty serious. I never buy a console at launch, there`s always bugs and problems. Far better to let it prove itself over a period of time before investing.

So you`re saying out of the box the 360 won`t stream AVI`s etc...?

I`ll wait til the console has been modded anyway... ;)

Video will have to be WMV and running on a networked Media Centre enabled PC

On top of all this having played Half life 2 on the xbox and call of duty 2 on the 360 the step up does seem a bit unworthwhile at the mo. King Kong had great lighting etc but nothing too drastic....it does seem like the launch games only have a clever sheen over them to improve clarity etc. This is the first time I haven`t bought a console at launch, I am chuffed that I resisted, I would be damn upset if my new shiny expensive console went cuplunk on me.
