anyone know of a firm release date for the new "smaller" DS?

i`m looking to get one for the daughters birthday in september.
will it be out by then?

I don`t think there`s actually an official release date for the `DS Lite` as yet. Apparently it;s expected to hit stores sometime in the summer.

Hasn`t been officially announced over here. It is selling obcenely well over in Japan. The DS outsells the PSP over there by a huge amount. In my opinion, in no small part due to the touch screen which allows original games that just aren`t possible on the PSP.
I reckon it should be out by then - announcement at E3 next week?

June release date has been announced for USA, but nothing for Europe yet.

i`ve actually been into our loca choices video store today (impulse xbox console
purchase) and asked one of the more knowledgeable members of staff, who reckons
june will probably also see the european release.....fingers crossed.
