i don`t think it did.

i asked whether a "modded" xbox could be used as a pvr on the xbox-scene
forums. the consensus(sp?) was that it can`t.....shame really.

i think the main problem was the fact that it would require some kind of capture
card / tuner which would probably be a bitch to implement.

Ah nuts what a pity. That was the only justification I needed to buy an Argos cheapo!

Cheers Ste!

LOL :D

i`ve been trying to convince my missus that it would be a good idea to buy another

Hey Ste, did you know some are using a Digibox as a tuner to complete the xbox PVR setup. Some discussion over at dvd forums about it.

that`s pretty much the question that i asked on xbox-scene.

the problem lies with the fact that you would need to load drivers for a USB
adaptor to work...which would mean that you would need another OS running
on the `box. no doubt some clever git could get one working with an adaptation
of linux.....not me though, i`m thick!

I think the main problem is that the Xbox only supports USB 1.1, you really need the bandwidth of USB 2 to use a tuner.

You won`t get drivers to run under the Xbox O/S but I would imagine that you would be able to get one working under Linux.

Many people have asked this as it would be a great addition to the excellent XBMC, but I have never read of any suuccess, it really is down to the USB limitation.

In a similar vein, has anybody successfully set-up live streaming of TV from a pc with tuner to XBMC?
