Page 1 of Help me softmod an Xbox :) update****** HELP !!!!!!

could someone do me a favour :D

i need a dumbass version of a "how to" softmod a standard xbox,, i`ve looked at a couple of tutorials but it`s like reading video recorder instructions, it might as well be in german.....

so if someone thats done there`s could give me a step by step guide i`d be very greatfull :)

ie, the xbox is in front of you, then get this & this then do this & that etc..... think run spot run & thats about the level :)

the main things i need are the ability to use dvd`r & install xbmp (preferably from slayers auto or similar)

as for aid 3.0 i have it somewhere, but i can download it easily enought :) i`ll let you know how i go on :)

anyone spotted a cheap memory card on their travels? or is paying £7-10 on ebay the way to go.

i got 2 for a fiver delivered from ebay, but that was ages & ages ago :)

2. Updating the box

1. Go to Settings>Network Settings, plug in your network cable and either 2. configure it manually or DHCP it. Test the connection. If it works, excellent.


1, do you plug the network cable into your pc, (ie, black ended cat 5 cable) or directly into your router/modem (ie, white ended cat 5 cable)

i`m skipping the above, i connected the lead directly to the pc & the xbox is finding Live ok, so i`m assuming thats working, also halo 2 didn`t give me the option of updating the dash, but when i checked it was allready the correct one.

BUT....

whenever i try to copy the save files over from the aid pack into the Xploder lite (aparently the same one he uses in the tutorial) xploder tells me i need to register the product to open this function :/ & i can`t seem to find where to register, i can of course find the full product & could buy that, but by the time i`ve done that i could have paid to have it properly chipped (considering i got a "proper" M$ memory unit, splinter cell & the xploder cable)


HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

EDIT= it`s now asking for a validation code (i found the register section) BUT i don`t have a validation code :( it`s not on the disc or in the packaigung >:( so i`m still shafted unless i can get a code,,,, I only wanna use the thing once :(
