jedi mind tricks (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 3rd July 2007, 13:19

ive got a profile on my friends 360 console that has a load of gaming points which took me some time. i just bought my own 360 but i need to transfer my profile from my friends to mine. i know you can do this by buying a memory unit, but i dnt wanna buy one just for that. it`ll be a waste of my money. does anyone know any other way of transfering my profile?

thanks

Was it a Gold account on your mates xbox? If so I think you ar stuffed. However, my mate created profiles for us (silver) so we could play on his xbox. Then when we got our xbox`s we just retreived the profile and updated to gold. All the game data we had got on his console was still there.

Not sure what you`re getting at but at the end of May my mate logged into my 360 retrieved his "Gold" profile complete with achievement points logged in to his account and we both played Aegis Wing on my machine (downloaded at the time from a US account) in co-op mode or do you mean can you retrieve a gold account and take it on live - don`t think we tried that although it said under his profile name that it was a Live account I`d doubt it unless it disabled your account on the original machine (which i didnt ask him about) otherwise everyone would be sharing one profile to save on subs... :/

It was a bit annoying as for the next few days when i turned on my machine it automatically logged in as him until i remembered how to disable this feature - i was extremely worried to say the least as he might well have been the sole beneficiary and very lucky recipient of some of my hard fought for achievement points had i have forgotten to log him out :o
