Page 1 of When/where/how do you use Ebay ?
General Forum
It struck me the other day when I was setting up a few Ebay sales - one really important thing to consider is the time/day that your auction is going to finish. This is because one of the best times that the auction fulfills it`s true potential is when there are a few people trying to get in at the last minute... If your auction finishes in the middle of the night, then your chances of a good result as a seller are reduced. For another example - I was setting up my auction when I realised it would end during the maintenance period on Friday mornings - NOT great for last minute or even last hour bids coming in !!
Hence my question - do more people use Ebay from work or during the day, or do the majority of people use it during the evening ? Is it best for an auction to finish during office hours in the week, or on a Saturday evening ? What do most Ebay jockeys here think ?

RE: When/where/how do you use Ebay ?
I`ve found that if people want to buy something really badly they`ll bid any time of night or day. In general, I`ve found that any auctions that end 9pm to 11pm result in a load of last minute, carried-away-with-it-all bids, whether it be weekdays or weekends.

i sell quite a bit on ebay and i would say between 7pm and 11pm are the best time for an auction to end
I would say the best time to list an auction is between 7pm and 11pm on a Sunday, as this seems to be the highest period for people using it.
