Problem playing VCD on Philips DVD711
Hi all!
I have just tried to play a VCD on my Philips DVD player. This VCD is burnt on BASF CD-R in 4x speed. After 22 min and x seconds the VCD movie just stops and then the DVD player goes back to the initial screen after a short while. This has happend two times in a row now!
The movie plays fine on my PC without stopping at the 22 min mark.
One more thing I have noticed when playing VCDs are that it is not possible to fastforward the movie on my DVD player. I have seen somewhere someone mentioning this problem before but can`t remember if there where a fix for it or not.
Pleas help!!! I would like to use my expensive new homecinema equipment to watch this VCD instead of having to watch it on my PC!
Tanx in advance!

RE: Problem playing VCD on Philips DVD711
Please tell me if you found the cause or a solution for this problem ?
I have the same problems with my Philips DVD707 ...
With an original videocd there are no problems and fastforward run!
I think there are some compatibility problems with the video stream format! What do you thing about this ?
You can give me an answer in my mailbox : siamuag[at]moc.euqiglebi
thanks!

RE: Problem playing VCD on Philips DVD711
I had a philips player and experienced the same problems when playing dvds, although i didnt notice a problem with fast forward on the ones that did play. I found that some vcds wouldnt play at all or some froze and pixellated. Most were copies, although some originals were very temperamental. I even experienced a few dvd`s which froze and pixellated, had poor layer changes etc.
I really had problems with this player although others say they have no problems at all which is odd because i had 2 of them brand new and both suffered with the same problems.
