Page 1 of Is the medion MD7950A any good?

For the price of £129.99 at Aldis for the Medion MD7950A, it sounds a bargain for something with a built in decoder etc, but can anybody tell me if its any good. What is the picture and playback quality like is there blocking, layer change problems or artefacts and all the rest of the tings that some cheap models get. Please let me know as I don`t want to end up with something I`ll regret very quickly when i could get the Alba D103 instead for an extra tenner from Toys R Us. Thanks.

I also saw the same machine in ALDI and asked myself the same questions, but then I thought of two things that are relevant to your questions , BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE. and YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!.

Also after sales service you want to watch DVDS and not be on a phone fighting for some after sales service thats why I will only buy it from ARGOS when I do buy ,and it will be a SONY or another good brand the AWAI seems to have some fans, but I myself decided against the ALDI model for reasons stated earlier, why dont you try and phone a ALDI store and see how you get on , its hard just to find the opening times let alone if you got a dicky DVD player you want mending or exchanging.

I am looking to buy a cheap DVD player, choosing from JMB from Index, Alba from Toys`r`Us or the Medion from Aldis!
Want to be able to play multi region discs, and CD-R s too!
MP3 would be a bonus!

I had the player for two days, i returned it only because there was no hack(now there is) I played two discs on it three kings and kolobos,both of these played fine the pic was clear sound was good and the colour was good as well.
when i returned the player they had no ploblem and just gave me the money back right away,no messing about
I then went and bought a sammy 511 because i knew u could hack them (from asdas for 167.45)
I found that the three kings picture on the sammy wasnt as big as on the medion which I wasnt very happy about! then again maybe that was me setting it wrong.
I would be intrested to know if the hack on the medion removes macrovision if anyone knows can they let me know......
