Page 1 of can you name the film?

Hi people, this has been getting to me for a while.the film is fairly old but shot in colour (late 60`s early 70`s). I have no idea who stars in the film all I can recall is the ending.
It is in a diamond vault, which they have gained access to via frames attached to the ceiling of the vault floor hanging upsidedown. The lead character after the gang have broken in says to his gang not to steal anything. One of the gang members is black and he fills his pockets with diamonds. As soon as he lifts himself back up onto the frame, the diamonds fall onto the floor and trigger the alarm. I am vague about what happens next. I do recal the ending being that the vault that was broken into belonged to the lead character`s brother.
Please any help with the title would be great. Thank you in advance

The black bloke has a gem hidden in his mouth but has to spit that out to. Is that the same film?

yes thats the film. I recal now that the alarm bells were going off and the coloured guy was locked between bars and they would not let him out untill he had dropped all the diamonds he was holding/carrying

heist movie of sorts, not a comedy although I recal light hearted. I cant really remember anything about the rest of the film just the ending. Its been playing on my mind for a while now and really would like to see it again. I think I saw it over 5 years ago on TV

Sounds suspiciously like `The Hot Rock` starring Robert Redford (1972)

Thank you Stantz I will do some digging tomorrow and see if I can uncover anything else on this title as I really would like to see this again. :-)

hi, because its about stealing one large diamond,the film I refer to is about not stealing diamonds and the diamonds they are not stealing are large amounts of small ones. Also I am sure Robert Redford is not in it. The lead character I am sure is the foriegn actor who looks like oliver reid but again I dont know his name. Stantz I do appricate any help you can give regarding this film.
