Page 1 of Anyone need a liver?
General Forum
George Best.
I`m all for splicing him open with no general anaesthetic, ripping the liver out (given to him in an operation last year), and giving it to someone who actually deserves it.
What a lowlife scumbag.
Isn`t that a little over the top?
Although I am reminded of the Private Eye cartoon several months ago..
"Liver gets a new Geoge Best"
On this occasion i agree!
What a w[at]rekn!
The Shi*house poet needs a good thrashing, Grafitti ISNT cool.... kiddies!
How many chances does the guy want?
With a beautiful wife, and hero-worshipped by millions, he seems intent on ending it all. I`ve no problem with that, it`s just that he`s depriving someone who actually wants to live.
His agent was reported as saying that he thinks it was irresponsible of the publican to serve him drinks. Pardon?
Alcoholism is a mentally fuelled problem. I hardly think Mr Best made a concious decision to start drinking again.
And with everybody in the country knowing who he is, or at the very least surely every pub worker, I agree that it was irresponsible of the publican to serve him.
It would be nice if we were all such perfect well rounded people with no problems in our lives that we didn`t suffer from the odd little vice that we cannot resist. However I`ve never met anyone like that so far.
I myself have this obsession with buying DVDs and endlessly expanding my home cinema setup. Luckily I earn marginally more money than I spend, so I`m not sitting in a card board box in oxford street with my projector and DVD player by my side, and nothing to plug them into. :)

He seems intent on destroying himself, let him do it I say. Just a shame he`s using a perfectly good liver that someone else without a self inflicted condition could use.

Did somebody force him to get p***ed then? Where does responsibility for your own actions come into play then? Drug-addicts are worthy of our sympathy? Murderers?
Liberal claptrap.
This one`s a toughy. It`s easy to get p***ed off when you think the liver may have gone to a more deserving person and when you think of the expense to the NHS. Funnily enough just read a column in The Mirror and the guy likened alcoholism to a disease like cancer and we don`t attack the person when he finds out that the cancer is malignant. Apparently GB didn`t drink for a year before the op. Two sides to every story !
Comparing alcoholism to cancer is surely an insult to all cancer patients. Cancer is a a physical deficiency, ultimately you have the choice whether or not to drink.
Pardon all the bold there.

Even though he`s a legend the guy deserves no sympathy. He was given a second chance and he seems to be pi**ing his life away.

One time my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at the local mall, so the whole fiasco wound up on the news. It was embarassing for my relatives and all. But the next week, he did it again. Different cat, same results, complete with a trip to the emergency room. Then, last week, I saw him in the pet store. He was buying another cat! I said, "Walt, what the hell are you doing, you know you`re just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don`t you knock it off?" And he says to me, "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy ! Brodie (Jason Lee) Mallrats
