Proline 1000 DTS

Mark Wood (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 19th January 2001, 12:20

I have been told that the proline 1000 is in fact dts compatible even tho it doesn`t say on the mchine or in the manual and many people have posted things about this e.g

"I`ve got a Proline DVD 1000 (upgraded version - only a month old). Today I bought the Santana DVD which has a choice of Dolby Digital or DTS soundtrack. Ever hopeful, I switched to the DTS soundtrack on the disc - and my Yamaha DSP-A5 lit up to show it was processing a DTS digital input! So this seems to be an unadvertised feature of the Proline machine!

After some more tests, I found out that: When the Proline digital output is switched to Dolby Digital, both DD and DTS are detected by the Yamaha. When the digital output is switched to PCM, the Yamaha does not detect DD, but continues to detect DTS.

So presumably I am, right now as I write this email, listening to a DTS soundtrack. I can`t believe that the Yamaha would lie to me!"

this is just one of many similar posts, can anyone else confirm they are true and the proline 1000 is DTS??!
