Page 1 of Region 1 Backup problem
General Forum
I have a pioneer 535 which has Macrovision disabled. I have a problem where I can backup any region 2 dvd to vhs, but when I go to backup a region 1, the picture jumps about, but in colour. Watching the DVD, it is perfect, even on the video channel.
I have set 535 to PAL so that the NTSC is converted to PAL 60, my video will play back PAL/NTSC, but will only record in PAL.
Any help would be grateful.
RE: Region 1 Backup problem
Backing up your region 1 DVDs to VHS is a great idea. I never thought of it before.
Now I can watch all my DVD`s in the same quality they were available 5 years ago and throw my player in the bin.
Cheers.
you have your answer in your own question
your DVD is outputting in PAL 60, a UK Video cannot record a PAL 60 signal only a PAL 50 Signal, you need to set your DVD to output in PAL50 if it has that setting, otherwise there is no way you will make a succesful copy of a Region 1 DVD.

Wow Ruben, what a great idea.
Who needs digital quality picture and sound when you can tape your films and watch them on your old Betamax like a f**king tramp.
Hope this helps!

Altho this person may wish to pirate DVDs onto VHS for dubious backup purposes, we will still not tolerate racist, homophobic and overly abusive comments in these forums.
Please tone it down chaps/chapesses
TIA.
