RE: ALIEN: DIRECTOR`S CUT RE-CERTIFIED BY BBFC
Not suprised really. Considering the actual content of the film, it`s not as scary nor as gory as most other things out there. I`d be interested to see what other `X-Rated` (the non-smutty ones) films would get if re-classified today
RE: ALIEN: DIRECTOR`S CUT RE-CERTIFIED BY BBFC
to be honest i could never believe this was an 18 in the first place - not sure where i heard it but there was a claim it wasn`t so much the horror in the film that got it an 18 but all the sexual imagery (i.e. the aliens head looking like a willy/phallic shape)
how much that is true i don`t know but i can`t wait to see alien ona big screen at last!
cheers
Geoff

Correct me if I`m wrong but hasn`t 20th Century Fox edited the film itself? The ones at the top of the list rated X & 18 are longer in run time (assuming the run time is on a like for like format i.e. PAL). The BBFC is not the only place where films may be cut!
RE: ALIEN: DIRECTOR`S CUT RE-CERTIFIED BY BBFC
It`s the Director`s Cut, and Ridley Scott has added some scenes, but removed others. Remember that Blade Runner Director`s Cut is also shorter than the original version.
