That was just about as awful a presenting job as I think I`ve ever seen! :D

thought he was better at rapping... oh $h1t no, he was crap at that too!!! 8)

I really felt sorry for the guy. He was choking and he knew it. There was a look of resignation on his face towards the end. Pat Nevin didn`t help, especially at the end when he foolishly just carried on chatting even though JB had said "goodnight" to the viewers. Surely they could have done some kind of screentest before they gave JB the job of anchorman? Shows how hiring someone just because of their name can blow up in your face.

It seems JB can`t do anything right these days. The Celtic job, TV appearances. I wouldn`t give a damn but Barnsey was my hero!

At least his rap on `World In Motion` was better than most of what rappers are releasing these days!

He wasn`t as bad as Blackburn. I`m just glad I`m the only person who watched it

I think he was a lot better than when Gary Lineker first started presenting - the BBC had to send him on courses on how to speak interestingly and how to carry himself more assertively.

Barnes` 1st night in the chair - give the man a break, see if he does better next time.

He was also utterly hopeless when he tried to " manage " Celtic.
I believe the Rangers supporters clubs voted him Manager of the Year for that debacle.

No way was Lineker ever anywhere near as bad as Barnes was the other night. It was almost as bad as his England career was (almost).

You should go back and see some of the earlier Linekar stuff, around the Euro 96 time when Des was with the BBC and actually good, he was so bad, it was unbelivable.

I didn`t see the Barnes stuff, but hey, nothing could be worse than a p***ed Gazza on the ITV world cup coverage.
