The French Connection is pretty good.
Dont really have a top 5 though.

I still think the best "chase" sequence is in T2, with the T-1000 in the truck chasing John Connor on his bike down the LA Storm Drains (or whatever they`re called).

But the chase in T3 was very good, as is the chase in Bad Boys 2. The Matrix Reloaded`s chase is class as well, but a little too fake to compete with the real carnage of auto madness :D

how can anybody think of anything else but The Italian Job (original of course)... :o

Barry Newman about 1972 ?

Basically the film consisted of Barry Newman getting in to a car and driving across the good old U.S. of A. while being chased by red necked cousin marrying police cars. Sorry but I cannot remember much else of the film but the car chase was exceptional for that time.
