BTTF Part II

Was watching it earlier, and the scene where Marty Snr is talking to Needles on the giant screen.....well, it looks scarily similar too a plasma screen! Does that mean Bob Zemeckis knew what was going to happen in the future??? are hoverboards just round the corner?? If so, I want one! ;)

It wasn`t a plasma screen, but it came bleedin close. It was rear projection, but the `projector` was only a foot behind the screen, and used a unique lens to spread the picture over the entire screen. Not really practical for home use tho.

As for the hoverboards, I think they`re a long way off, but at the time, Zemeckis let it be known at the time that they weren`t using special effects, but the hoverboards had just been invented in japan and they were being allowed to use the prototypes. Needless to say, there were many toyshops turning away angry customers that xmas.
