Sony DAVS300 & CDRs

Tim P (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 16th August 2000, 20:23

I have just bought the Sony DAVS300 home cinema system. Whilst an excellent system, it refuses to play CDRs of any kind.... a problem when you create your own short films on CDR.....

Does anybody know if it is possible to make any kind of adjustment to a DVD deck in order to get it to play CDRs... I cannot believe that with the length of time CDRS have been around that any new players cannot handle the format..........

I think this is fixed at manufacture, there is no way to change it. Players that are not shipped with dual frequency lazers just can`t read CDRs unfortunately.

I own the same system, and am very pleased with it.

If i recall it only plays DVDs and VCDs...........it doesn`t play CDRs or CD-ROMs (but can`t understand why anyone would want to play a CD-ROM).

If you have you had any problems or found out something that may be interesting, please let me know.
