Harry Potter "Special Editions"

kevin woolard (Competent) posted this on Friday, 5th March 2004, 14:25

JK Rowling has said this morning she plans to re-write all of her Harry Potter novels because she`s not happy with the way they are written.

Smells of George Lucas.

Smells of something else, I`d have said.

Check your calendar. April 1 is still a month off. ;)

Actually, she said something along those lines yesterday, in a live webchat for World Book day.

This what was actually said:

Quote:
Tanya J Potter: If you could change anything about Harry Potter what would it be?

JK Rowling replies -> There are loads of things I would change. I don`t think any writer is ever completely happy with what they`ve written. One of these days - once seven is finished - I`ll revise all seven books
.

Which doesn`t mean she`ll be re-writing the books and re-releasing them within 3 years. Any changes she does make will be slight, she`s working to a plan (which she ignored when writing Goblet, meaning she had to re-write a third of the book).

And smelling of George Lucas? She doesn`t need the money..

So had I . There was a rumour spread (and amplified in some circles by me, I`m afraid) that the reason she`d taken so long to release book 5 was that she`d actually written the last 3, and would be releasing them once every 9 months ot so. As it turned out, the reason she took so long with Book 5 was because she was busy getting married and having a child...

And Terry pratchett can kick out 2 a year, women eh?

Wonder what George Lucas does smell of? Wet Wookiee?

BTW, Kevin, humble apologies. :) I found the reference on page nine of the chatroom transcript.

I bet George Lucas reeks of scotch eggs and jelly. Probably a bit of McDonalds too.
