Anyone know what version / release (if any) contains the "crabwalk down the stairs" scene, just watched Ch4 showing which was advertised as uncut, yeah right!!

The "crab walk" never appeared in the original film, which is what was shown uncut on Channel 4.

It`s an out-take, which was computer-enhanced and included in a recent US re-release of The Exorcist (ludicrously titled "The Version You`ve Never Seen!") This version also has some additional footage and changes to certain scenes.

The raw "crab" footage was first shown in Mark Kermode`s BBC documentary on The Exorcist, called "The Fear of God". This documentary appears on the 25th anniversary DVD release.

Thanks for the prompt reply - I knew I`d seen it some where, must have been in that documentary. Just a note though, the ending I remember from the original release was slightly different not that it made any difference to the plot or over all effect - great film not quiet so unnerving a secound time round. Thanks once again.
