Rental region 1 DVDs

the_medic (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 2nd April 2001, 16:41

Anyone know of any sites that offer region 1 disks for rental? I`ve looked at movietrak and dvdoptions but they don`t appear to offer this service. Are they missing a trick?

I think firms like Play247 should offer this service alongside R1 sales - they`d make a killing.

As dicanio says, mainland UK firms can`t legally do this, owing to the Video Recordings Act. This effectively bans the sale and rental of titles that don`t carry a BBFC certificate, which of course includes all R1s.
