is Aiwa owned by Sony?

i know that this isnt strictly a dvd qusetion, but ive herad this is true. could someone please clarify this for me???

I also had heard that Aiwa was owned by Sony.

Also, check the Sony Corperate web site, have a look for the "Annual Report 2000", there is mention of how much Aiwa
sales accout for total Sony sales.

Aiwa used to be a subsiduary of the Sony corporation, but as far as I know, they ain`t part of it anymore.

However, if they still report that Aiwa sales account for profits......
