Page 1 of simpsons on dvd????

anyone out there have any idea if and when the simpsons are going to be released on d.v.d format?
i did hear that they were planed for the end of the year (but this information came from disk emporium who seem to be unreliable as far as future releases are concerned)
futurama would also be great on the format, anyone out there in the know?????

I also read that article, but haven`t heard about it from anyone else, D`OH!.

As DVDan posted recently, Futurama is due for release this Christmas, so maybe the Simpsons will too, we`ll just have to cross our fingers. If it does happen, I hope it is released in series boxsets, instead of the way it was on VHS.

I hope they do it like the x-files season boxsets with about 7 discs to a season! I love the simpsons but would like to see the release in a widescreen format 16:9. im not that kean on futurama but would still like to see it!

The simpsons Box-set with definatley be released before the futurama box-set. So expect it either before, or at the start of christmas.

I`m not too excited about the Simpsons boxset, because, lets face it the first season was kinda naff. It was quite funny but way too "serious". Plus the dodgy animation will look pretty rough on super sharp DVD.

But futurama will look great, and the first season is just as good as any of the new eps.

where did you guys hear about futurama ?
last i heard there were no plans for a d.v.d release, but hopefully i heard wrong as it would look superb on the format.
its true however the animation on the first simpson series is a bit ropey but it`s a classic man.
