After finishing an install last night i nipped to the pub for a quick one. The staff, as they do, talked me in to going to the Fan Club (dark indie type club I used to frequent 15 years ago)
Much beer, vodka and funny coloured s*** was drunk and a laugh was had. We leave at about 2.15 am and the others get a taxi home. As I live in the city center I start to walk back. I am walking up High Street and I see there is a fire in the area of my flat. As I get closer I see it is Karrens Blind that has gone up. Police an fire engins aplenty. I sit on the wall and watch the exitment for a bit and a copper comes over and asks if I have seen anything. My answer is no, as I had only been there about 15 mins. They take my details just for their records. Exitment over, I go home (50 yards away) and crash on the settee. 5.30 this morning I wake up to a hammering on my door. I ignor it. Bang bang bang. I ignor it. BANG BANG BANG I get up and open the door (just in my pants) and I am greeted by 4 coppers. 2 male 2 female. I invite them in. (they were comming anyway) and ask if it is ok to sit down. They ask me a few questions about myself befor one of the femail copers starts the old

"We are arresting you on susp......"

befor she is stopped. They start to ask me more questions and I am like

"woah woah woah, what am I being aressted for?"

"we will tell you in a bit"

They carry on asking questions.

I am like

"woah woah woah, what am I being aressted for?"

They still won`t tell me. I ask if I can get dressed and the say yes. I go to put my jeans on and I am stoped

"are they the trousers you were wearing tonight?"

"Yes" I say. He takes the jeans off me and tells me to put some others on. I go to walk to my bedroom to get some more and I am stopped untill a copper goes with me. Same happens with my top.

They then interogate me for about half an hour. Things like "what are the marks on your head"

"psoriasis"

"I saw a mark on your knee, what was that"

"?????" So down come the trousers. It was just a presure mark from how I was sleeping.

I give them detailed details (?) of my night and in the end, I assume they had got CCTV footage of me walking through town by now to corroberate my story, they leave. But not befor I try to sell them some Hi-Fi.

Bed.

Luckely I was not that drunk and I had a good memory of what and where I had been. A few more vodkas and I think it may have been a night in the cells.

All good fun though.

How was your night?

All the best,

The 42firestarter%er.

Pretty much sums up why I have no respect for the police. I once caught a joyrider and when this young, cocky copper came to take my statement he all but accused me of having stolen computer gear in my house. After I `politely` pointed out that I built PCs for a living he moved on to the old `you`ve got a lot of expensive electrical equipment` routine. It really annoyed me, especially as I was doing the suspicious arseholes a favour.

I am not that annoyed. They were doing their job and arsonists do go back to look at their work. I felt if they were going to interview me then I should have been given my rights. I was more concered about what I may have been accused of by some nutty woman at the club or the like. I had pretty much had forgot about the fire, so it would have been nice to know why they were there.

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

Only you could have the gaul to do that after they tried to arrest you! Never miss an opportunity for a sale LOL! :D

Glad to here you were ok in the end ;)

My evening was spent throwing up. :(

BTW You might want to edit your title, it`s eventful, not aventfull (I mean that in the nicest way possible) ;) unless you are still drunk?

You were probably questioned because most arsonist like to return to the scene and watch the building burn.

A local school in our town was set on fire deliberately. The police questioned me and three other guys at the scene. Almost to the point where we we nearly convinced we had started the fire. The detective was quite aggressive with us. But what really p***ed us off was this........we were the f***ing firefighters putting out the fire.

In the end it turned out they suspected 3 teenagers, but the dumb cops couldn`t prove it because the school was gutted.

And the police wonder why people don`t want to assist them with their enquiries or to become involved when they see something!!

Glad to hear that the hassle wasn`t too major, Andrew. But you seem to be more understanding about it than most people would be - I`m sure I`d have been absolutely furious if they had hammered on my door at 5.30am and practically accused me of committing a crime, especially with the kind of attitude it sounds like they gave you >:(

Same thing happened to me on morning. I was woken up by two police guys banking on my door. I opened it in my pants and they just started reading me my rights. They didnt give me any information just said they had a warrent to search the house, which they did but didnt tidy up after themselves. Then they gave me some clothes to put on and took me down to the station where I finally found out why I was there.

A couple of weeks earlier I had ordered a voice altering machine (for my radio show) from a Us website. This website apparently also sold Stun Guns which they had sent out instead. They assumed that I had ordered this and had a vast collection of weapons in my house.

As soon as they realised that it was a mistake and I showed them my reciept I was a free man again.

I felt they didnt really give me much information on what was happening and thought that they were pretty harsh with me when they could be arresting real criminals like the ones that drove into the back of my car then drove off.

Got a very very similar story that happened a couple of months back with my flatmate.

He was at home, staying at his parents, and was working at Sainsburys on a night shift. Anyway, he came home in his car, and went to bed like normal. Later on that night his front door was kicked in, and the police burst into his bedroom and arrested him, and took him down the station.

Apparently he`d forgotten to put his handbrake on, and his car had rolled down a hill into a wall. A passer by said that he thought the man driving was doing drugs, and so the police came in full throttle - no questions asked. My flatmate was scared s***less. Still, it made me laugh. :D

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?
