Page 1 of DVD-watching Counter-Strike fans ?!

I like to dabble in the odd game of Half Life Counterstrike from time to time - usually after work from 5-6 pm.

Just wondering if any of the other forum regulars play Counterstrike - perhaps we could get onto the same server sometime ? It`s fantastic fun, and a great game.

I normally play on Demon or UK.net servers, and I play as [OX-DR]Dan

Keep your eyes out, but don`t expect me to be nice to you ;-)

I used to play loads up until Feb, but since I`ve moved out of my shared flat I`ve lost use of the ADSL line :( I`m just going to have to get over it and start playing on a modem again. nick is [KFC].Gizmo and I mainly played on jolt or demon servers. I`ll keep an eye out next time I venture online........

I have a league game tomorrow, currently playing for d0pe after my clan couldn`t make a team for this season. I`ll join you for a warmup on a public server around 5-6 this Wed if you want me to show off my dismal skills. ;-)

Oh and before I forget, I play on BarrysWorld unless its down. You can find me as the imaginatively titled RobertJ (or probably d0pe-RobertJ now).

I don`t play as much as I used to. Got fed up being on a modem and getting my arse kicked by LPB`s. But maybe that`s cos I suck? Anyway, maybe I`ll jump on sometime on my trusty 56k and nibble yer kneecaps. I play as WPKenny btw. :)

Kenny - It looks to me from your stats that you tend to play Q2 - Action Quake 2 rather than Counterstrike.

What`s that like ? Can you find fast servers ?

Plenty around. The best way I find is to just refresh the UK Master for Quake2 in Gamespy and use a tab to filter out game types to just AQ. It`s a wicked game and I`ve only just started playing that again recently. I was one of the founder members of www.actionnation.com . Which was nice. :) Heh.. www.theclq.com is still about then eh. :)

May be we could set up clans based around DVD player brands, then use this to start a DVD Reviewer league?

Heh, I`d love that. I`ll be moving house and getting ADSL in a month or two. My only problem would be a pretty major one though. My girlfriend. What with working long hours in london she barely sees me as it is. Me being in a clan and actually having a reason to turn my back on her and play my nerdy computer games would incense her! LOL. I suppose I`d love to give it a go and see how it works for a while. I`ll let you know when I`ve got my ADSL at home, till then.....:)

I`ve only just started playing in the last few days. When I was at uni last year my housemates used to play in 6 hour shifts over the weekend - seeing as we had the BTInternet evening and weekend deal. Oh if you had seen the phone bills....

I used to think it was a bit sad really but finally succummed to the time consuming, argument causing counter-strike when i got a cable modem.

Anyway, I tend to use GameSpy to find the best servers (Barryworld, nguk and uk net), and www.gametiger.net to find my mates - it searches all the servers.

I don`t think I would want to join a clan though - i don`t have that much spare time, and my girlfriends patience is not unlimited.

I play as Mr. Whippy, and if you do meet me you`ll probably kill me as I am still crap.

If you want to be a CounterStrike pro, all you have to do is join a server and everyone who kills you accuse them of using wall hacks, aimbots, hacked models, etc.
