I am unable to get rid of the letterbox effect on my widescreen tv . whatever picture aspect I set it to I still get a letterbox effect. Jackie Brown & Pulp Fiction

Sounds like you have Samsung Firmware update #1. This has a known anamorphic bug with distributed Warner titles. You will need to get the Samsung Firmware update #2 to fix this problem.

Thanks for the advice .I am now know what the problem is but I have not found a cure

Pulp Fiction should have a small letterbox as its 2.35:1, but odd that Jackie Brown does too. Could well be the anamorphic bug as Chris says. Only solution is to get it upgraded via your Point of Purchase.
