How would you get a car stereo to work in your bedroom
I was watching an american home makeover show the other day and the put a care stereo and speakers in the girls bedroom. How would you wire it up to the electricity (safely) cause it would be pretty cool to do this.

You would need a 240V / 12V transformer and rectifier via the mains to give 12V DC or use a car battery instead.

Just get a decent seperates/hifi
What youd pay for a car stereo/speakers/roommounting/transformer youd get a 240V system twice as loud/good

When I did it years ago I used a model train transformer. You should be able to get a s/h one off a market stall.
I gonna kill that firefox spellchecker, and enjoy doing it.

The beauty of using a car stereo is that you can flush fit the speakers, into the ceiling for example.
A motorbike shop I used to work in had umpteen speakers sunk into the roof, working off a car head unit.
Sounded very good indeed.
All you need is the 240/12 transformer and off you go.

I used car speakers running off a normal stereo for a while when i was at university. It worked okay, and i don`t think i needed any special stuff.
