House viewers

socks_uk (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 9th August 2005, 20:12

I`ve been busy all day preparing for viewers for our house... hoovering, bed making (sorry, re-making - to MY standard ;) ) clearing away cat food bowls & litter tray, hiding laundry & ironing pile but... Yes, you`ve guessed it - they never turned up! Grrrrrrr!

The estate agent says they aren`t even answering their mobile. This is why moving is so stressful!
Rant over.

Hmmm... You`re obviously a bloke Stanz because they never seem to see what`s under their nose! ;) Putting `Jill` at the end of my post tends to give it away a little. :)

And how many teenagers that you know make their beds by just pulling the duvet over?? When I make her bed I make sure the fitted sheet hides the mattress. Well, when we have potential buyers viewing, I do. When we move house I won`t set foot in her room again. (when she`s home ;) ).

I agree. I too am moving and have been let down. Stay in all day Saturday, clean the place up and then they dont turn up >:(
Good luck with the sale. Been on the market now for 2 months. Not even had an offer. :(

I can`t think of why they don`t turn up The Jackal. Surely most people are like me and do a bit of homework prior to making an appointment to view?

I check out the estate agent`s website, check out the prices that houses in the same street have sold for recently on www.houseprices.co.uk and drive past the house and check out stuff like parking, North/South facing garden (satellite dish in the photo on house brochure gives it away before you even go look!) and dogs barking etc.

There are a couple of houses I want to view as soon as we get a buyer, if the`re still on the market :/ and I practically know pretty much all there is to know, including the layout to some extent if you read the estate agents description like `kitchen with picture window to side aspect`. I am in the lucky situation of being able to move into my dad`s empty house after ours has sold so we have no forward chain.

Good luck to you too The Jackal.

Jill

P.S. Want to buy a terraced house in Grimsby??? ;)

Hey Jill you do exactly what i do. I have even had a viewing that told the estate agents that it was out of their price range. What the hell is all that about? Why would you even view a house that is "out of your price range"?
I too have the option to move in with parents when/if i sell.

Thanks for the offer but think i will be staying in Essex. :/

I`m 38 and on my seventh house.
I quite like the viewing part.
I always know how to present a house to impress viewers and I always enjoy their comments.
Yes,you`ll get time wasters,that`s life.
The one thing that really grips my s*** are people that come `mob handed`,usually when it`s wet outside and they drag mud in... >:(
