Page 1 of Yelo Review in DVD Mag
General Forum
Not sure which mag it was (oct 2000 issue though), but whilst flicking in WHSmith`s I noticed that the Yelo only got 3 out of 5 and was marked down due to sound quality. I have read the 95% Total DVD review and just thought it strange why people rush and buy a player on the strength of one review. Surely It`s best to read a selection and then purchase. Ive just returned my X Wave and ordered the Wharfedale 750s which has had many good reviews etc.

The magazine is Total dvd. They gave 50% for the sc-2000 and
68 % for the daewoo dvd player. When i mentioned to them that
they were identical players apart from the colour they couild not
explain why 2 identical players were given 2 different reviews.

Probably because the build quality of each unit was very different as I think you mentioned in another thread QC has much to be desired?
also I know The Yelo got 95% in The Budget Shoot out as I posted it, I wish to know which mag it only got 3 out of 5?

RE: Yelo Review in DVD Mag
The magazine I saw the 3/5 review had a free cover mounted DVD with the new Disney movie `Dinosaur` on the front. It was in WH Smith`s and had an exclusive to Smiths foldable half cover.
what dvd is the mag in question , and they found it to make periodic noises like my player?
i read a review on dvdreview.net and they do mention the subtitle problem but they still give the yello an overall score of 10 out of 10. i suppose it comes down to the individual at the end of the day i will hopefuly form my opinion on tuesday. fingers crossed on this one i am sick of sending players back but if this does turn out to be pants the lecson dvd 900 may be my next choice.
IGNORE ALL THE REVIEWS - IVE GOT A YELO 800 AND THE PICTURE IS POOR
Artifacts on all of the DVDs Ive Seen. PowerDVD on a PC comes close to the quality of this player.
Mines going back - See the subtitles thread for a more in-depth review.
Consumer Magazines are talking BOL*OCKS as usual.
