Try CAB or Trading Standards. There is some rule about `reasonable time` even though it`s out of guarantee. Obviously try the manufacturer first......who is the manufacturer by the way...?

You have no rights with the manufactor what so ever. If they do help you it will be purely good will. Don`t hold your breath. Your statatory rights last for 6 years so you could have a claim against the retailer. Have a chat with them and they may be willing to help out. There is the reasonable amount of time rule. A light bulb is covered by the same 6 year statatory rights rule, but it would not be resonable to expect a 50P bulb to last 6 years?

If it does end up in court it would be down to a judge to decide what is resonable and we know they are f***ed in the head so how knows what the judgment would be.

In short. Talk to your retailer, if they won`t help try the CAB.

Thanks for all the advice. To be fair if it was about 5-7 yrs old i`d take it on the chin but 2 yrs old at £400 shocks me especially as the old low end model (bought 2nd hand) that it replaced is still chuntering away in the garage (it holds ma beer and cornetto`s so it gets used alot :D ) with no care lavished on it at all

42%er, I thought it was the other way around?.. First year is with the retailer and then subsequently with the manufacturer. 2 years is not a reasonable amount of time for a fridge freezer.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

We were told that a reasonable amount of time was worked out roughly to £100 to a year, so if it cost £400 it should last 4ish years by someone when our telly blew up..not sure how true that is tho.

Altho, just as an interesting point...the bloke from Curry`s told us a reasonable amount of time was the time it took to run a full cycle...like you turn the tv on and flip thru the channels once, and thats a reasonable amount of time...made me laugh lots. :) (when I`d finished being all cross and shouty)

Better leave my motor in my will then!

Can`t see you losing this one as who would say that`s reasonable and hardly a good advert for Bosch now.....

I have a bosch that is around the same age, But one reason I purchased it was that they give all there products a 2 year warranty, Go check to see if you are inside the time limit ?
