Ultimate DVD "New York gets a pasting comment!"
I have just read Ultimate DVD and can`t believe the Armaggedeon story.
There is a pistcure of a meteor going into a building in New York, with the caption "there goes another neighbourhood, New York gets a pasting". surely they should have removed the magazines from sale as this is highly offensive, or am I being OTT?
If shops are prepared to take "Die Hard" off the shelves, then I should think this sould be removed as a mark of sensitivity also.
Well, there`s sensitivity and there`s over-sensitivity! I`m sure people are smart enough to realise that the magazine went to press *before* the tragedy, and therefore that it wasn`t poking fun at those who died. If the comment was right there on the front cover I`d agree with you, but if it`s tucked away inside the magazine, I don`t think it`s a big deal.
As for taking Die Hard off the shelves, it`s sheer over-reaction. I can understand TV companies not broadcasting it at this time, but shops not allowing people the choice of buying it if they want to see it? Completely ridiculous.
Personally, I`m vastly more offended by the gung-ho and bloodthirsty coverage of the tabloid press than by a magazine with an unfortunate but coincidental caption, or by a 1988 film which just happens to feature terrorists and a tall building. But maybe that`s just me.

Hi,
was just reading exactly the same review just before reading your posting.
Come on. This is "momentum" reaction. You happen to be shocked. That`s it.
In a few years, when Hollywood produces an epic about this historical moment we`ve just lived, you`ll pay to watch it all again on the big screen. The star will be Haley Joel Osment, now on his 30`s. Just can`t assure if Bay and Bruckheimer will still be alive to make it. Ah, you`ll probable find it very poor, just like on that old movie Pearl Harbor.
I sincerely hope this be restrained to the US and the bad guys.
Pray and try to be happy.
