Just out of interest...

Why are some titles being pulled and others not with NY skyline featuring the towers in them, for example my missus watches Sex in the City avidly and the opening credits for that feature the twin towers more prominently than any other film/series I`ve seen, and it`s all over the tv at the mo !!! I just find it all a little strange ?!?!

Because some people are ridiculously oversensitive and others are rational and sensible. The producers of Sex and the City (or rather, the bosses of whichever channel it`s shown on) obviously fall into the latter category.

As for the former, maybe you should ask broadcasters why it`s acceptable to show real footage of the planes crashing into the WTC ad nauseum (often in slo-mo and set to music!) and people leaping from the towers, but not to show the intact building in a fictional film or programme.

Well said - there are so many people saying that they were shown things which they wish they had never seen or ever want to ever think about happening - I believe in the power of the viewer to not watch a program if they so wish - but in my opinion every news channel were doign whatever they could for ratings.

we`ve all seen films which involve violence - but it`s so different with showing event which were real - we know when we watch a film that none was injured so we`re not shocked - because it`s a film and therefore NOT REAL.

Agreed! But I wish I`d been warned about `Swordfish` (Bus into tall building from inside viewpoint) and Rush Hour 2 (explosion of several floors of building).

Maybe I`m too sensitive which would be fair criticism so don`t bother.

Anyone get this month`s FilmFour mag?

Warning slip about an article removed `cos it was `inappropriate`

Page actually ripped out of the mag!! (looked like an article `bout Sean Penn).

Wot next. Book-burning on Nov 5?

How `bout `Towering Inferno` for a start.

Jebus H. Give it 5 years or so and the same idiots will be making films about the damn thing!

Hippocrites, the lot of them.

has nobody heard of the right to free speach? what about artistic liscene? just because it`s upsetting to see a picture doesn`t mean that it should be banned. What If Van Gogh had painted the new york skyline? would that painting be withdrawn from galleries?
