Anyone `helped themselves` to airport mains ??

bowfer (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 14th September 2006, 13:58

Just wondering if anyone has ever been cheeky enough to plug in their laptop/phone charger into an airport terminal powerpoint,or even if they positively allow such a thing ?
My laptop has pish battery life you see.
My laptop also charges my phone, through the USB cable.

You may be ok in an Airlines own lounge. But I would ask first as using electricity without permission is theft.

I wouldn`t advise that you try it at Schiphol. You would get jumped on from a very great height!

But I`d say if the sockets have no covers or not locked down, they have no sign stating `for staff use only`, and they are in a public place then they are for public use.
Also don`t think in this day that they should have unprotected mains sockets on walls in a public place!

I`m with you really.
If the socket`s there,I`ll probably use it until some jobsworth says I can`t.
I`m positive they have sockets all over the place, for hoovering etc.
Lucky if I can get an hour out of the battery in this piece of crap,so here`s hoping I can find a quiet corner with a socket. ;)

Or if they don`t officially allow it,it`s probably time they did.
Little slot machine stylee things,at something like £1 per hour (max).
