This is the silver version of the 535D.

Any thoughts on this player?

What`s the picture quality like?
Any problems?
Build quality?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ok - having seen the other thread which seems to be a meeting of the hitachi fan club I will respond with mainly saying the my Pioneer 515 has NEVER done anything remotely wrong with any disks I have ever tried on it and I have never needed to update any firmware nor contacted anyone about gettign anything to work on it - and it even reads CD-R and CD-RW video CD disks and Audio disks(not Mpeg 3 I admit)
It`s really well built but I have in fairness heard some people mentioning about the remote having small buttons - never found a problem myself!

P.s. The button ont he front of the 515 that turns off the front display is a nice touch too - hope my next one has it.

Simon!

If that wasnt the most blatant piece of biased advertising I have seen, then spank my arse and call me Charlie!!!

I find this sort of thing disgusting and beneath me, that is why you would not catch me advertising a company`s products.

HITACHI 505 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
HITACHI 523 WSTV da bollox!!!!!!!!!!!!
HITACHI FX980 VCR HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!

available at all respectable electrical stores, at bargain prices:P

Sorry about that Charlie !!
(I`ll leave the spanking thanks - what ever floats ya boat though m8 !)

Now that you mention it I`d quite like a job at Pioneer if any one from them is reading :)

Pioneer 515 is da man 4 the job
Panasonic 28LD1 is da TV
JVC J935 is da dream VCR (variable scan speeds with no picture breakup - also with sound - and 3 seconds of audio when you pause it !!)
