Ferguson DVD400 Got the hack - but plays disc in black/white?!? help!

spiderman (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 9th December 2001, 16:01

I tried the hack listed on this site and it seemed to work fine, but the disc plays in black & white, (it is a colour disc)
What else can I do? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Mark

Spiderman, the problem, i`m afraid, lies with your television. Unfortunately, some older sets, and one or two new one`s don`t allow NTSC playback. Before you think about replacing your set, check the manual to see if you need to set anything in the menu to allow NTSC. If anyone else has any tips on this then perhaps they could post them.

I`ve got the Ferguson DV400FE, and I got the B/White on NTSC DVD`s.
Fix is to go into the menu option for the screen and choose PAL/G (i think) rather than the AUTO option.
It will then output in PAL60 format, PAL colour but at 60Hz. Since you got a stable B/White picture, before your TV will now show full colour!
