Need help identifying a ZX Speccy circus game
And it`s NOT `Circus Games`. All I remember about it really was that it was mainly monochrome, very detailed for the platform, and came on about 6 tapes. It was released as the Speccy was quickly becoming out-dated, and was better served to the +3 model, which had the disk drive. Playing the game on tape was dreadful, as eack level took 20 minutes to play, were insanely difficult to play, so you quickly lost all your lives and were on to the next level before you 1, had a chance to perfect your technique and 2, knew what the hell had just happened. To get through the game once with no sense of achievement took 2 hours
I believe it may have been French in it`s origins, but looking on various lists is bringing no joy, which is bloody infuriating.
One last thing I remember was the tightrope level. The tightrope was displayed diagonally top left to bottom right in an isometric fashin.

Fiendish Freddy`s Big Top Of Fun
Edit: Just realise that I have it on my PC for a Spectrum Emulator. All speccy emulated games are the same size as they would be on tape. Most are sub 48k, many are sub 128k, multiload games can get a little larger. Fiendish Freddy is a few bytes short of half a megabyte!

RE: Need help identifying a ZX Speccy circus game
Finally figured it out as soon as I posted, but cheers for the link, that review is the exact one I remember reading, and the reason I bought the game in the first place!
Half a megabyte? No wonder it took 2 chuffing hours!!

Looking at the link to the Your SInclair review Jitendar posted, the temperature gauge next to the overall rating is a bit phallic isn`t it?
And I did my occasional ebay search to see how much Sinclair User Issue 1 is going for, and it`s still going for less than £2. :/ So much for being rare!

I`ve got issue 1 of gamesmaster, but it`s in pretty ropey condition, so probably not worth much. I di, however, have 3 copies of the Sunday Times Star Wars special magazine from 1999 to celebrate episode 1. They`re going for about £6 on ebay
anyway, back on target...

What spectrum emulator do people recommend? Tried a few now and struggling to get this game to load. Realspectrum was the only one that let it load but the sound on that emu is distorted.

zx32 patched up runs anything I throw at it.
But most emulators are old now, pre-Vista, which may be another problem.
This site has a nice list and links.
