The ads always seem so inviting, and the first edition, which gives you 2 pieces that don`t go together, is ONLY £1.99

the next 85 editions cost £6.99, come out once a month, coming up to a total of just under £597, and you won`t get all the parts until some time in 2020.

It says weekly instalments, but if you subscribe they only send it every four weeks - which is pretty cheap of them.

So more like a year and a half to complete - not quite 2020 ;)

Still a bloody rip-off though! :o

You can always tell when its new year, lots of ads for slimming stuff, smoking patches and these monthly collections, I wonder how many people actually complete these things and how many half built models of the Titanic, Concorde and Star Trek fact files end up in landfill once folks realise its cost a bloody fortune to collect so far and wont be finished for another 50 months at £5.99

Surely there aren`t enough bits involved in that model to spread over 85 issues. Even if some weeks you just get one tiny little "light" it`s not enough.

It`s a BIG model, have you not seen it? Almost big enough (but not quite) for a small child to climb into! Therefore, you could easily expect there to be 85 parts to it, although it still doesn`t excuse the outright scam that far too many gullible fools fall foul of!

It`s less than 20cm wide!

Regardless of size I was looking at how it could be separated out (ie regardless of size the outer part of a door, minus handle or window, is 1 piece) and was struggling to get to into the 50s. Every miniscule bit of the engine and interior is going to come separately.

Not if you word it like that, but I did in the past spend ust over £950 collecting a wildlife fact file over nearly two years, then discovered you could have bought the whole thing for £50...it then got put in the loft, the water tank leaked and the whole thing got ruined and had to be thrown away. I never sat and worked out the cost, just started buying it at the special price and then got suckered in! Oops... :/
